MockRoom Practice exams for cloud certifications

Frequently asked questions

How MockRoom treats your data and how its study tools work. Nothing here replaces the privacy policy or the terms of use, which say the same things in full.

Privacy & your data

Does MockRoom collect my answers or scores?

Not while you are signed out. Your attempts, Flashcard progress and ticked Subsections are kept in your browser's local storage on the device you studied on, and are not sent to us. If you choose to sign in, a copy of your progress is kept on our server so it can follow you between devices. The privacy policy has the detail.

Do I need an account to study?

No. Material, Flashcards, Quizzes and Mocks all work without one, and nothing is withheld from a learner who never signs in.

Does MockRoom use advertising, analytics or tracking?

No. There are no advertising cookies, tracking pixels or analytics scripts, and studying sets no cookies of its own. The only third-party script in the product is the Cloudflare Turnstile check on the sign-in step, which does not load while you study. Our host, Cloudflare, processes the technical request details any web host does, such as your IP address and the page requested, in order to deliver and protect the site.

What happens to my progress if I clear my browser data or change device?

If you have not signed in or exported a backup, it is gone, because we hold no copy. Use Export study backup in the Backup panel to keep a file you control, or sign in to keep a copy in your account.

How do I delete my data?

Signed out: choose Reset study data in the Backup panel and type RESET to confirm, or clear site data for the exam room in your browser settings. Signed in: Delete account in the Backup panel removes your account record and saved progress, and progress already on your device is kept. For anything else, email [email protected].

Sync & sign-in

What does signing in do?

It keeps a backup of your progress and lets you carry it to another browser or device. Sign-in goes through Google, so we never see a password. It is optional, and it is the one thing that puts a copy of your progress on a server.

What does the account store?

A random account identifier of our own, your Google account identifier, your email address and your display name, plus a progress snapshot for each exam room you save and a little bookkeeping used to detect two devices saving at once. We request only the openid, email and profile scopes, so we cannot read your Gmail, Drive or contacts.

Do I sign in separately for each exam?

Yes. Sign-in is per exam room, and each room keeps its own saved copy of your progress, so signing in to one does not sign you in to another and studying for one never changes what you have done in another. The account itself is shared, so your second room is a sign-in rather than a sign-up.

Why is there no Sign in button in my exam room?

Accounts are rolled out one exam room at a time. If a room's Backup panel shows no Sign in button, no account can be created there and your studying stays local to your browser. Nothing else about the room changes.

When is my progress saved to my account?

Only at checkpoints: signing in, signing out, submitting an attempt, finishing a Flashcards session, importing a backup, and leaving the tab when nothing is open. Never on a timer and never per answer. Your browser stays authoritative: what is on your device is merged with what is saved, and a network response never replaces an attempt you have in progress.

Can I move my progress between devices without an account?

Yes. In the Backup panel, Export study backup writes one file, and Import + merge reads it on another device. An import never replaces newer records you already have there.

What happens to my progress if I sign out?

Signing out only ends the session. Nothing is removed from your device, and the saved copy stays until you delete the account.

Material

What are Material, Flashcards and a Quiz?

Each exam room is organised by Domain, a weighted division of the exam guide. A Domain has three tracks: Material, which is the written study guide; Flashcards, a deck for active recall; and a Quiz, a set of questions on that Domain alone. Each track completes on its own terms and none gates another.

What is a Subsection, and what does Mark read do?

Material is divided into Subsections. Mark read ticks one off so you can see what you have covered. The tick is stored in your browser like the rest of your progress.

How do Flashcards work?

Tap a card to reveal the answer, then judge yourself honestly. Show again later brings the card back in ten minutes. I knew it spaces it out over days, growing each time. Nothing is graded by us, and a question you miss in a Mock can turn into a card.

What do Ready, Building and Weak mean for a Domain?

Ready means all three tracks are complete: every Subsection marked read, 80% of Flashcards mastered, and your latest domain-scored attempt (Domain Quiz or full Mock) at or above the share of questions the real exam's pass mark requires. Weak means that attempt fell short or you have not taken one yet. Building is everything in between. A domain is judged on your latest attempt, never your best.

Can I rely on the Material?

Treat it as a study aid. It is written independently against the published exam guide and AWS documentation, and it lists the sources it was written against, but services change and errors can slip through. Verify anything that matters against the official AWS documentation before exam day.

Questions & mocks

Are these real exam questions?

No. Every question is written independently from public exam guides, official documentation and general knowledge of the subject. MockRoom does not use exam dumps and does not publish real examination content.

What is a Mock, and can I sit one untimed?

A Mock is one full-length set of questions, sat start to finish. Each exam room has several distinct Mocks rather than reshuffles of one bank. The start screen asks one question, timed or untimed, and questions and options are always shuffled.

Can I pause and resume a Mock?

Yes. A Mock is saved after every answer, including your flags and the time remaining, and you resume it from the Mocks page. Starting over asks you to confirm first, so an unfinished attempt is never replaced by accident.

When do I see explanations?

In a Mock, after you submit. In a Quiz or a drill, right after you choose Check my answer. Every option is explained, not just the correct one.

What is the difference between a Mock, a Quiz and a drill?

A Mock covers the whole exam and is the exam-conditions simulation. A Quiz covers one Domain, sized to that Domain's share of the exam. A drill is a short set of ten questions on the Task you have not seen or do least well. Quizzes and drills never write over a Mock attempt.

How do I report a wrong or unclear question?

Email [email protected] with the exam, the Mock and the question number, or paste a few words of the question. Please say what you think is wrong and, if you can, link the AWS documentation that says so. We are a small team, so a reply can take a while.

Scores & the Numbers switch

What is the Numbers switch?

It hides the figures that measure you: scores, percentages, counts of your own work, streaks and averages. Figures that only tell you where you are stay visible either way, such as question 3 of 10, which Mock you are on, the timer, Domain weights and the pass mark. It is in the top bar on wide screens and in Settings as Show numbers.

Why are the numbers off by default?

A number that measures you can overwhelm you before you have started, while a number that locates you is just navigation. With the switch off, a verdict word, a meter and a plain sentence carry the meaning. The switch is off on a first visit and your choice is remembered on that device.

Why does the Progress page show numbers even when the switch is off?

Progress is the evidence behind your readiness verdict, and you reach it by asking to see that evidence. Hiding its figures would defeat the point, so it shows them whatever the switch says. Your saved preference is not changed by visiting it.

How are my results scored?

On the certification's own scale of 100 to 1000, not as a plain percentage, so a result is comparable with the pass mark AWS publishes. Each exam's pass mark and format are on its guide page. A practice result is a study signal, not a prediction, and nothing here guarantees an outcome on the real exam.

Exams

Which exams can I practise for, and what is in each room?

Two exam rooms are open. AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01) has 325 questions across 5 Mocks, and 83 Flashcards. AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate (SAA-C03) has 325 questions across 5 Mocks, and 76 Flashcards.

Is each exam separate?

Yes. Each exam has its own room at its own address, with its own colours, content, saved progress and sign-in, so what you do for one never changes another.

Where do I find an exam's length, cost and pass mark?

On its guide page: AIF-C01 or SAA-C03. Those details come from AWS and can change, so check them on the AWS certification page before you book.

Can I ask for another exam?

Yes, email [email protected] and say which exam you need. We cannot promise one, but requests help us decide what to build next.

Using MockRoom

Is MockRoom free?

Yes. There is no paywall and no account is needed to study.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. The layout is built to work from narrow phone screens up to a desktop, and the main controls are sized for touch. You need to be online to open an exam room, because its questions load from the site. Your progress is stored in the browser afterwards.

Can I make the text bigger or switch to dark mode?

Yes. Settings has reading sizes from 80% to 170%, a Light and a Dark appearance, and the Numbers switch. Your choices are kept on that device and do not touch your study data.

Are there keyboard shortcuts?

Yes. In a question, number keys and letters pick an answer, Enter checks or advances, and F flags the question. In a Mock the arrow keys move between questions. On a Flashcard, Space or Enter reveals the answer, 1 shows it again later and 2 marks it known. The hint line under each question states what applies to that question.

Who runs MockRoom, and is it connected to AWS?

MockRoom is run by Studio Tansy. It is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon Web Services. For general questions write to [email protected], and for privacy requests to [email protected].
